Welcome
to my website. I use this site to share some of my interests with you.
Let
me introduce myself... My name is Hans Hulswit and I live in Papendrecht, which is a town of 32,000 in the Netherlands. We're
on the River Merwede, just to the north of Dordrecht, and about 15 miles south-east of Rotterdam.
I'm
a teacher of English at the Willem de Zwijger College, which is a comprehensive school in Papendrecht. With our students (but
also privately) I visit England quite often and you can find some of my favourite pictures on this site.
LOCAL RADIO
Since August 2011 I have been involved with our local radio
station. It's called Papendrecht FM and we operate our service on 105.0MHz. Of course we also stream our programmes
on the Internet: www.rtvpapendrecht.nl
I do a show with classical music on Sunday called Papendrecht Klassiek: it airs
between 12 and 2pm Dutch time. On Wednesday afternoons I present Rock Garden, which is a show with classic and modern rock:
this airs between 3 and 4pm Dutch time.
THEATRE
I love spending
time at our local theatre, Theater De Willem. As a volunteer there I'm one of the backstage crew who rig
up light and sound for each performance. It's fun to do and be part of the local theatre we're all proud of. Inge volunteers

OTHER INTERESTS
Some of my
other interests: literature (English and Dutch), the arts (especially painting), space and astronomy, radio and the history
of North Sea off-shore radio. And last, but not least: I really love what I think is the most beautiful city in the Netherlands:
the City of Utrecht.
